Everthing was okay but he has spent the last four days drinking really heavily. I have what some consider a high-powered career and am the main breadwinner. Has anyone else's partner freaked out.
By the way he has had a drinking problem in the past - tends to binge drink whne under stress.

No help I'm afraid, have you tried posting this in the relationships section? There are same great people on those threads

Has he been able to articulate what is worrying him? I think some men just have a bit of a wobble when they realise that they are soon going to be responsible for a little person that is totally dependent upon them in every way. It's a lot to get your head round. My dh used to really panic about being able to provide for us all (very poor childhood). It got worse as the births were imminent and just after they were born. It did settle down though.
How far along are you?
My one concern about your story is the drinking. If he's had an alcohol problem in the past, you really don't want it to start spiralling when you are about to become parents. I would encourage him to see a professional about this/

He used to take lots of drugs when he was younger but stopped doing that. He's a binger i.e. goes for weeks or months without a drink then is drunk for several days. He has seen a doctor and even had some tests but he's as fit as a fiddle - it's me who is stressed. Maybe I should go on the relationship boards, I am new to the site and couldn't find them at first!
Am seeing doctor tomorrow, am 9 weeks and may have a urinary infection so I will mention it to my doc.
Thanks for your advice. xxxx
