Why is it that when your pregnant people assume they can touch u? Am i being unreasonable here...I just would never go up to a stranger in the street and touch her belly!...I think its an invasion of privacy!
Dnt get me wrong im not a prude...Im happy for my friends and family to do it just not a random weirdo in Tesco!

And when it's not just a stroke, but a couple of pats, or they start trying to 'wobble' the bump by placing both hands on it....grrrr...

TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF ME!

I hate it when people push at the bump and say 'Kick, baby, kick!'

As if I need anymore wriggling and kicking at this stage. Plus since the baby dropped into my pelvis every push on the bump makes me need the toilet!

It's getting to the point that the next time someone does it I'm tempted to let go and just wet myself. It would be fun to be able to say 'Now look what you've done, you imbecile!'

But it could be a litte embarrassing afterwards...

Pr1ncess · 02/06/2008 13:47

Ermmmm yeah! I think that would be a tad embarrassing!......
I have been dying to say "what do you mean when am i due?" ..."IM NOT PREGNANT " But i think im a lil bit to far gone for that now at 39 weeks! LOL

It happened to me all the time when I was pg last year, everyone addressing "the bump"....get used to it, you are not interesting anymore, but the baby is.....
...now I don't get so much as looked at, everyone totally blanks me and addresses the pram!
I think a psychologist would say it was something to do with societys' facination with new life

I had this a lot recently as my bump only just starting to show properly. my midwife told me to say actually thats my colon your rubbing! so i used it on DH's aunt. that stopped her

oopsacoconut · 03/06/2008 21:33

The woman in the baby shop touched mine on saturday when we went in to look a buggies - before we had even said good morning!! Needless to say we will not be buying our buggy there - just felt too invaded by a stranger!!

chocbiscuits · 03/06/2008 21:35

Lol @ your midwife

Saw my best friend the other day, she walked over to me bent over and then put her ear on my bump before even saying hello

barbareebaa · 05/06/2008 18:11

oooooh.... can I join in!

Today, a colleague came up to me, touched my tummy and said 'That's not a proper bump - that's just podge'

I never asked for her opinion! For half a second I felt guilty for being a disappointment!!

I didn't have a podge before I was pregnant (well not so you could tell) so can podge be a baby bump in its own right even if the baby is lower than the podge? (i.e. caused by pregnancy)

See? See?! Look what's it's done!! Heaven help me when i get a 'proper' bump!!!!
