in a midwife so once i do it everyone will know 🙈

I had my scan this morning, nothing seen but uterus lining is very thick which they said is a good sign however not 100%, i am 4 plus 5 tbf so wasn’t expecting to see much.
I have another scan thursday at 5 weeks and will go from there. Do you have a scan booked? x

Amazing on the CB! Such a good feeling isn't it! 🤞🏻💕
My scan isn't until the 17th, finding out so early makes it seem like forever but I'll be 6+1 then so hopefully there'll be something to at least look at and it'll be in the right place 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Oh no, not a perk of the job then 😅 x

Oh @Lavenderrose92, I actually thought of you this morning on the way to work. I'm so sorry this has happened again. How are they treating? Look after yourself and make some time for you x

SunsetIceCream · 11/09/2025 18:40

@Lavenderrose92im so sorry
to give you some hope …for when you are ready if going down the IVF route is what you want - i lost both my tubes and moved onto IVF and did go on to have twins on my next transfer x

thank you! i’m finding it so hard to stay positive and knows it works for some but just can’t see it working for us when we’ve had 3 ectopics and been so unlucky. Did you go private or nhs? x

I already had an older child - so wasn’t entitled to IVF on the NHS

ironically one of my ectopics was following an IVF transfer - (IVF actually Increases the risk of ectopic rather than decreases it)

it did cost got a lot to do IVF - I’d guess I spent around £30k in the end x

yeah when we looking into doing IVF before ( when i had only lost one tube) the dr said i’m putting myself at higher risk.
30k is mad😭 we have about 15k in savings we could use but that’s everything 😔 might look at access or abc fertility which are meant to be more “ affordable” but surely there’s a catch.

I used Create - ABC is the “budget” arm of the same clinic. They do get very good reviews but they have quite strict criteria who they will take on - you have to be low risk, below a certain age etc .
my twins came from the cheapest package at Create though (after I spent £20k on other protocols first) - 3 round natural modified with ICSI and all drugs was £13.5k (got 4 top quality embryos - 2 being my twins) x

thank you so much! it’s such a crazy thing. I’m 33,BMI 27, good amh but do have under active thyroid so maybe won’t be able to meet criteria but will look x

@Lavenderrose92 I hope you're recovering after the op 💕 we actually had a few ivf consultations prior to my chemical this month. I was advised that the chance of ectopic is extremely low once you've had both tubes removed as it would have to be an ectopic in the ovaries which is extremely rare. We looked at going to Prague for it as the prices are so much less and travel time isn't far off the time it would take us to get to London! We are considering starting in the process in the New year. My only worry is I've had so many miscarriages that I get pregnant through IVF but then miscarry again.
