AF 2 weeks late, slight nausea, itchy nipples last week and occassional throbbing breasts, slight increase in vaginal discharge, period type pains for over a week on and off but........negative test result taken on friday.

We had been TTC dc2 since June last year but around 2-3mths ago we decided to stop trying for a while for financial reasons and things we have committed to this year although we didn't actively use protection iykwim, just avoided what we thought might be fertile days.

See, now I have period pains again and am convinced I am about to come on then it doesn't seem to happen.

I do get AF every month however it's not always regular but has NEVER been this late. Should I retest in a few days (the thought of wasting money on tests pains me aswell as we are counting every penny at the mo!)

Did anyone else get -ve results and then turn out to be pg?

So I will say what the next 300 people will say. You need to test. That's it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 09:33

Ooh - didn't expect this to be you! Am excited at the prospect. Please test, for me if not for you .

Teuch · 27/05/2008 09:33

Hi Chloe55 - were we on an antenatal thread before?

You kmow the drill You could have OV'd late, hence later to get a +ve hpt or for period to arrive.

If you do want to test again, First Response Early Reponse are the most sensitive - or head to GP and ask for blood test.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 09:35

Yes you were Teuch.

Should have added that one of my friends didn't get a +ve result until she was 7 weeks.

Chloe55 · 27/05/2008 09:36

Yes Teuch, I was/am on antenatel but never seem to get on there much at the mo!

I know, I know, need to test but wondering if I should wait until tomorrow now to get first morning wee - I have a test left over from Friday (Clear Blue) but just seem to have this reluctancy to use it as am convinced I'll test then probably come on straight away!

Hiya CSWS - hope your pg is going well.

Think I am also slightly scared the test will turn to a positive and we had made a joint decision this would be a far from ideal time to actually be pg. Hmmm, I don't know - pretty sure I'm not just venting my thoughts and concerns on here really.

Oooh waits patiently for result

Flamesparro · 27/05/2008 09:44

Tis never an ideal time to be pregnant when you think about it, but you roll with it and things turn out right in the end

tuttuttut · 27/05/2008 09:46

With my ds i ov much later than i thought unusually, i got a few -ves then a few very faint +ves before a a proper solid line. It turned out that when i was testing i had only just conceived a couple of days earlier. So it is totally possible you have oved later than you thought. Get an early pg test. Good luck.

dizzydixies · 27/05/2008 09:47

btw - tesco do their own tests and they're much cheaper AND work juist fine

Chloe55 · 27/05/2008 09:50

To put it matter of factly, the last time we actually had sex was about 3 weeks ago so it would have been about 20 then about 24 days or so after the first day of my last period. So, surely the test would have shown +ve by now if I was?.......Surely?

pucca · 27/05/2008 09:50

After my saga, i think tescos tests are the best.

Good luck, i think you should go and do the clearblue now

Chloe55 · 27/05/2008 09:58

Ok, took the test - a definite negative, not even the faintest line. Hmmmmm, back to the drawing board!

Oh Soz mate

Chloe55 · 27/05/2008 10:30

No, don't worry Friz, I'm not dissapointed, actually slightly relieved but still a little confused to the other symptoms and no period

Ahh, just read your thread and was all excited for you! Sorry that it was negative this time...

Just for future reference, try getting some early pregnancy test strips from ebay. I got 10 for around £3 I think! They show up early even if it's just a very faint line (although I had to do 3 before DP would believe it!!!)

Chloe55 · 28/05/2008 15:11

Thanks Jenny, that's interesting to know. Still no AF yet and been very crampy and nauseous for days now so have booked a doc appt on Friday just incase I haven't come on by then because if I'm ruling out pg then there is something else odd going on. Don't get me wrong, I often get period pains but they literally come for an hour before AF arrives and a few hours after, that's generally it so no idea what's going on!

Hey Chloe, just wondered if you had any news???!!! (I'm a nosy thing...)

Chloe55 · 30/05/2008 12:15

Well, not really as such, went to doc's this am, bloody burst into tears on her as I am a total emotional wreck at the moment, gave her my symptoms and she basically advised me to wait and see. I explained that I couldn't carry on for another month feeling like this and not knowing why so she flicked back through my history and it came up that a month before I had ds I was suffering exactly the same symptoms, literally exactly, then miscarried a few days later So she has basically told me to expect the same as I am showing classic pregnancy symtoms but with added sharp shooting pains which has led to previous early miscarriages with me. She prodded about on my abdomen and I told her it was tender but she said that I needn't go up to the hospital as if something was serious I would be in a lot more pain, and to be fair I'm not in a lot of pain, more discomfort. She told me to go straight to casualty over the weekend if the pain gets stronger or I don't stop bleeding heavily. Not even a suggestion of a blood test though Now I am scared because I remember what that felt like when it happened and I was in agony.

Oh God, I can't stop crying, I really don't want to go through that again. I'm scared

OP posts:
jennylindinha · 30/05/2008 14:52

Oh no, Chloe

Please try and take it easy/relax... I know there is not much you can do in this situation but wait and see but perhaps, if it is an mc, it won't be as painful as the last one. It is horrible though, having to wait to find out what is going on. If you are in much pain then I'm sure that if you have to go to casualty they can give you some painkillers to help.

Have you spoken to your DP about all this?

jennylindinha · 01/06/2008 16:22

Chloe, I just just wondered how you were... Have there been any more developments? I hope you're ok. x

Chloe55 · 02/06/2008 07:43

No developments, no period, the odd period pains, stabbing pains seem to have subsided so wonder if that was just my endometriosis playing up a bit. I wonder whether I'm just gonna skip this period for one reason or another, weird. Thanks for asking
