Low lying placenta - when did you have your c sections?

Hello,

it turns out I have a low lying posterior placenta covering the os which they think won’t move at all due to it being at the back of the uterus and not at the front. a c section is looking very likely.

when were your c sections scheduled for with a low lying placenta?

thanks

That was the only advice I remember being given just to come straight in if there was bleeding (never was)

I had placenta previa plus vasa previa so was admitted in w 35, delivered in w 36. Baby did very well.

No problem at all, thank you for taking the time to reply. I hope you get some good news at the 32 week scan! My scan is 5 weeks away this week

Let me know how you get on! Mine is 6 weeks away 🙏

38+6 with #1 and was on bed rest from 34 weeks with second pregnancy, and delivered at 36 weeks, twins.

If helpful - by my 32 week scan in May my placenta had moved up! Which is a relief

@esunny so glad you posted this! I have 7 weeks until my 32 scan check but we’ve booked a 4D next week so going to ask if they can see if it’s still low to get a little indication 🤞🏼 I definitely feel pressure and kicks really low still so be interesting to see, I don’t know if it’s related but when I walk too much I get like a tight stitch pain which I don’t know if it’s normal or not 🤦🏼‍♀️ Keep us updated xxx

@esunny Thank you ❤️ it went well, he had to go to the neonatal unit as he had fluid on his lungs, babies that are born by via c section tend to as it's not expelled as much as a natural delivery. He was there for about 6 days and then was allowed home. He'll be 6 weeks on Wednesday. Hope you're ok. Xx

Awww bless you. Let me know how you get on! I always feel strong kicks on the front of my stomach but not very low they’re always around my belly Button. But if my placenta is on my lower back I think I’d always be able to feel them strongly! Xx

Hi everybody I was referred to a growth scan today because baby measured small at the midwife appointment. Turns out they are in the normal range weight and growth wise and on my notes I’ve noticed it’s changed to ‘posterior high’ instead of ‘posterior, covering is’ I’m guessing this means it’s moved’ woooop x

Great news! Hopefully someone (e.g. midwife / sonographer) can confirm that's definitely what they mean but it certainly sounds like it's moved!

That’s what my scan notes said when mine had moved up! Went from anterior low to anterior high
