Pregnancy anxiety (Previous losses)

I have taken 3 tests today, the momed strip had the faintest line, so faint I almost missed it, I took a clearblue early and got a line. So I did a digital and the word pregnant came up.

I am over the moon to be pregnant again but I am incredibly anxious.

We had a missed MC in Nov after the heartbeat stopped at 8w3d. This was resolved with a D&C. I have had 2 periods since and I make myself 9DPO.

I have had 3 other losses (1 ectopic). The EPU will scan me at 6 weeks and put me on progesterone (as per previous pregnancies).

How on earth do I stop the anxiety though? We said we would get our hopes up if we get pregnant again, just keep taking each day and hoping to make it to 12 weeks and beyond. It's seems so easy to say though!

Any positive stories of pregnancies after multiples MCs?

We have been taking the supplements recommended in the IT starts with an egg book since the last MC.

Hi op, a gentle congratulations and I'm so sorry for your previous losses. I've made lots of my own threads over the last 2 years as I've suffered 4 miscarriages myself. One at 5 weeks, a MMC found at 12 weeks (baby died at 8wk3d) , blighted ovum at 7 weeks & then a mc at 6 weeks. I did not think it was in the cards for us. This was over the span of a year and a half. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. I was put on progesterone and apirin (I also take vitamin D) by the recurrent miscarriage clinic and scanned every 3 weeks (up til 18 weeks) it's not been an easy journey and been so nerve wracking but I can't believe we are here. I used to pray reading positive outcome threads wondering if it would ever be me & I always comment on these because I never thought it would be. You probably won't ever not feel anxious - I still do, even though it's not as bad anymore (now I'm anxious about giving birth) 🤣 really praying this is a sticky baby for you xxxxx

Also just to add I went to the GP 3x before they referred me to the clinic, the gp did basic tests which all came back clear. The clinic never got in touch with me but when I found out I was pregnant this time I called them and demanded I be prescribed progesterone, they seen I was on the list and said the consultant said he would give it to me after a scan at 6 weeks but I said I wanted it now (I was 5 weeks) which to my surprise he prescribed it. Not sure if this is what helped me!

Thank you.

History is:
MC 6 weeks (natural) 2017
Ectopic (surgical removal of tube) 2023
MC 7 weeks (natural) June 2024
MC 8 weeks (D&C) Nov 2024

The last two pregnancies I was prescribed progesterone after a 6 week scan showed a heartbeat.

I do have some left and in date so I can start using that right away.

I am trying to not get excited but also not feel doomed from the start of that makes sense?

Gentle congratulations on your pregnancy! I've had two losses, one neonatal death following a premature birth, followed by a missed miscarriage, followed by our healthy baby. Those first few weeks are such an anxious time and to be honest I don't think there's much that will help with the anxiety at first following losses! But I did try to think that I'd be devastated either way, whether i'd let myself feel excited about the pregnancy or not, so may as well enjoy being pregnant as much as you can! Have you had any testing following your previous miscarriages? Might be worth asking about low dose aspirin as well as the progesterone? After 8/9 weeks the risk of miscarriage goes down to below 10% i think, so that will be a nice milestone to reach! Take each day as it comes xx

Our June loss was tested and showed a chromosome deficiency. We've both been tested to check we are not carriers and were cleared to try again. We are still awaiting results from our last loss but were told likely bad luck and to try again.

I just worry if I allow myself to be excited it will hurt more after. Our last hit me harder and I think it's because we got to 8 weeks with heartbeat and I thought great we have got further then a scan at 8w4d showed we had lost heartbeats the day before.

So sorry for all of your losses. I know it must be so tough. I witnessed a friend have 2MC and one ectopic. She went on to have a lovely baby girl in October. I hope you have a healthy and stress free pregnancy this time x
