Got my BFP and I can’t concentrate on work!

I did a pregnancy test randomly today as I was wanting a glass of wine tonight but don’t want to drink if I’m pregnant, not expecting anything and it’s positive. I can’t believe it and want to do another test. I haven’t told anyone and I am supposed to be working (I wfh). I really can’t concentrate on my work right now I’m shaking with excitement and fear.

Please help me rationalise this. Am I really pregnant or could it be wrong? We have only been ttc for 2 cycles. Don’t know if there is any point in doing another test as my period isn’t even due until Sunday! Argghh I’m so excited and scared. This would be my third pregnancy. First pregnancy was an early miscarriage and second one was my 2 year old boy, so I don’t want to get too excited in case it isn’t meant to be! I conceived really quickly the first and second times as well so you’d think I’d be expecting it by now but I’m still shocked for some mad reason!

Congratulations. I’m similar in terms of my first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage, then I have a 21month old son, and now I’m 25 weeks pregnant.

It happened quick each time for me too. First cycle, third cycle, third cycle. I did track my second and third pregnancy though just to make sure we were covering each cycle.

I would wait to test again until Sunday but if you have a positive test then you are pregnant.

Thanks. Congratulations to you too!

I think the quickness of it is surprising and even though we were ttc I still struggle to believe it. I wasn’t taking any ovulation tests or anything but I did an online ovulation date calculator thing so I had a rough idea of when I’d be most fertile. I guess I didn’t expect this rough estimating to be accurate. I thought I would struggle to conceive this time round as when I conceived my son we were newly weds with no other kids and lots of time on our hands. Things are a lot different now and parenthood has is exhausted most of the time 😂 so thought it would be trickier this time. I know we are lucky though as so many struggle to conceive but I think I will be anxious until I get to the 12 week mark due to the miscarriage before.

I will probably just wait until Sunday and do another test from a brand new box of tests to be sure!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and wishing you and baby all the health! 😊

Congratulations! I know exactly how you feel, I’m currently 34wks pregnant with our second who was conceived the first month of trying. We were both equal parts excited and terrified and still have no idea how we’ll juggle a toddler and a newborn, but hey we’ll find out soon 🫣😂

I know the feeling. I got my positive pregnancy test just before leaving for a home visit to a client, we were discussing a serious topic when all that was going round my head was 'omg I'm pregnant', I then had a very unproductive few days at work, but I just accepted it and told myself I'd kick myself into gear the next week, which i did. Just ride the wave for now, of course there's a small chance it could end in bad news, but for now you are pregnant, and for me personally if im excited about something, telling myself not to be just absolutely does not work 😂, so just go with it x

I too am terrified wondering how it will work out with our toddler. He is already very stubborn and doesn’t listen to a word I say 😂 also very much a mummy’s boy. He is literally hanging off me as I walk around and if I sit down he is on me. Not sure he is going to like having a newborn sibling taking up the space on mummy’s lap!

Yes, I’m terrified but also very excited and bursting to tell people when I know I shouldn’t! I have told myself I can have today and the weekend to be in my happy little non-productive bubble. Then back to business next week. Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏼
