When do you start buying things for baby?

When did you all start buying things you need for the baby? All of baby’s clothes, bottles, blankets etc. I’ve bought a couple of bits but I still can’t seem to let myself buy too much at the moment because I feel a bit on edge and I don’t know why! I’m 24 weeks now.

With DD I bought the travel system at 20 weeks because it was the January sales and I wanted to take advantage, knowing that I could return it within 3 months if anything went wrong.

Currently 21 weeks with my second baby and haven't bought anything yet but I still have a lot of stuff from DD. Will probably start buying clothes and sorting from around 30 weeks x

Around 20 weeks I started to buy something each month/ each salary.
I’m 33 weeks and covered everything pretty much.
i bought the pram last. Cot/next to me first, then feeding essentials. I got all babies clothes from Vinted, I’ve saved so much money using Vinted. Clothes come practically new!!
Make a list of everything you need, small things to large and start to tick it off. I felt super organised this way

personally if i was you i would be taking advantage of the January sales and buying now.I started buying after 2nd scan

A few bit after 18 week scan (only one scan then) but mostly in Jan sales as due feb. Didn't bug much anyway as was relocating abroad and it turns out babies don't really need much (coslept, breastfed)

I'm 35 weeks with my second and will start buying bits next week. Started at 32 weeks with my first

I had a panic at around 24 weeks that I had no idea what I needed and started making a list, but didn't feel ready to buy anything at that point as I was still worried. I'm 32 weeks now and have bought most things I think, apart from a playmat, and toys etc. I split my list into different sections, started getting stuff for "sleep" to start with.

I haven't bought any bottles yet, as hoping to breastfeed to start with, but have made a list of what I might need if I end up expressing or formula feeding.

I've bought things bit by bit, and have shopped around to try to save money, but you could get everything you need in a day if you know what you're buying.

All the major supermarkets sell clothes, bottles, blankets etc, and lots are open 24 hours. So unless you live in the middle of nowhere, don't stress.

Also, if you start making a "baby wishlist" on Amazon, then you get an extra 15% off a lot of things. I haven't shared my list with anyone, but it's been useful to keep an eye on when the prices of things get reduced and it's helpful to know I can Amazon prime anything I might end up needing.

I'm 28 weeks with my second and am just starting to look in the sales now

I was on bedrest from 7 weeks, so we bought almost everything after the baby was born. It was quite doable so there's no need to worry if you don't have everything.

Thanks everyone. I’m sort of feeling the pressure but also don’t feel ready to buy too much yet!
I’ve written lists so that’s a start 😂
