I thought the sickness would start easing off by now but it hasn't 😞 I have been sick every single morning now for 4 weeks and the fatigue, anxiety, headaches, insomnia and exhaustion are still so bad!
I was given cyclizine but petrified to take it because of the listed side effects, it put me right off of taking them!

Just wanted to check with others if they were in the same boat still at 12 weeks. I'm starting to feel so fed up, it has been on going now since I was about 7 weeks and really kicked in at 8 weeks to daily vomiting. I feel so deflated, I haven't been able to go out, constantly sleeping in the day, can't even do any housework or proper cooking like usual

I was sick with my first until 16 weeks, sadly it doesn’t always subside at 12 weeks. I had a week off and then got nirovirus and ended up in hospital on a drip if you can believe it 😱.

it’s bloody awful and so isolating, the main reason we waited a while for a second, we have a 5 year ago gap (which actually is so nice), as it happened I wasn’t at all sick with my second, typical! Felt nauseous a lot though which also wasn’t very nice.

All I can say is that this is shit right now but it’s really a blip in the grand scheme of things, the chores and admin will just have to wait while you ride it out. You will feel better soon.

Sorry to say but this is the norm for a lot of us.

My first pregnancy, the sickness and nausea started around 7 weeks and lasted till 14/15 weeks.

Second pregnancy, it started earlier aims 5.5 weeks and didn't get better until about 20 weeks. Even now at 28 weeks I'm still having the odd day where I'm sick.

The tiredness does ease up but not until closer to 20 weeks in my experience.

I heaved all the way through my second pregnancy.

coxesorangepippin · 01/01/2025 14:54

Crap?

Newbeer · 01/01/2025 14:55

My sickness tapered off by about 15 weeks with my second. Unfortunately the insomnia lasted until she was born 😭

Whitedoves · 01/01/2025 14:57

I still felt awful until about 20 weeks! Sorry. It is rubbish isn't it.

romdowa · 01/01/2025 15:01

I'm 14 weeks and its easing now just like last time but I still felt a bit pukey right up to birth with my son.

@coxesorangepippin yes crap. Didn't know if you was allowed to fully type swear words etc on here and if they removed your post or something like that

@sel2223 I think as long as I know it is the norm, or can be the norm for most I won't worry so much, the reassurance really helps me a lot, I start to worry if I am really ill or something or have something seriously wrong. The headaches after vomiting are horrendous though, it's so debilitating

Debilitating is exactly the word I would use..... and brutal!
The consultation is that it's relatively short term in the grand scheme of things. It won't last forever and it'll be worth it.
