Hi all I thought I’d make a thread for any mum’s due September next year! I got my BFP on 22/12 (very unexpected!) have 2 boys already (7 & 2) I *think* although I wasn’t tracking I’m due on or around 2nd September 😊

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know most people will just say ring my GP at 9 and I will 😅😅😅🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ I still haven't told them yet.

But what's this about just going straight to hospital for a referral and speaking to midwife straight away to get booked in?

Last time I had DD you had to ring up and get them to do their own urine test in the doctors then they booked me in.

Can I just contact the midwife unit i want directly myself????

It would be easier probably.

Or do I still need to see GP?

Heya, I'm on the other September thread, but thought I'd pop in here.

It depends on your trust, but a lot of GPs won't have anything to do with pregnancy and will tell you to self refer online. Some GPs will refer you themselves, some GPs have resident midwives, it all just depends.

With mine, the GP won't have anything to do with you, so you have to self refer to the maternity department of the hospital in the catchment area of your GP. You do that, then they call you a few days/weeks later to confirm a few details and give you a date for booking in. 12 week scan letter comes through the post shortly after. It's all very hands off here!

Mine hasn't been quite that good - I heard nothing at all from anyone after submitting the form, so I called the number on the website and was told that if I hadn't heard anything by 8 weeks to ring them back. So it looks like I won't even get booked in until 8 weeks!

I just wish I had a bit more support since this will be my first baby and I had a loss recently too.

I'm also suffering with the most awful cold and I'm going out of my mind with it 😭 I'm on day 3 of not being able to breathe out of my nose at all and aching so badly! I'm trying hard to soothe it with hot drinks but am avoiding everything I would usually have to alleviate it (I really miss lemsip!) and it's so hard.

I really hope since I'm due September I'll be lucky and this will be my only cold haha. My sinuses are so painful!

I probably shouldn't be on this thread because I've not taken a test because I'm too nervous too, even though I'm 10 days late, it's unplanned, I've got 2 children 6 and 2 so know I feel pregnant. Big one being I've got a proper cold and normally my immune system keeps them mostly at bay/ mild, except when I'm pregnant. Probably shouldn't be on this thread as I'm not sure about a third...life's so busy at the moment and my mental health was awful after second, just got better the past 6 months or so.

Hello - sorry for the late reply I never got a notification for this! Hopefully you got your booking appt before the 8 weeks!

hopefully that's been your only cold you've had so far! I had a viral chest infection a few weeks ago which was not nice but im now 20 weeks and I feel like I'm getting a little back to normal with tiredness etc.
