Is it likely I’m heading towards chemical / ectopic / miscarriage?

Hi everyone.

I unfortunately had a miscarriage in July at around 9 weeks. We took a few months off TTC and are now in our 2nd month of trying and my period is late.

I wasn’t tracking ovulation so I’m just going based off of a 28 day cycle which is normally roughly accurate for me.

I took a test when I was 2 days late and a very very faint positive came up (see image 1). I took another about 36 hours later and was disappointed to see that it was just as faint, if not more.

That was this morning, so I’m about 4 days late now. I went on a walk and bought a different brand of test and took it just now (see image 2). It’s very faint as well but positive.

This is probably not going to end well, right? I’m not here seeking false hope - just realism so I can accept it myself.

At 4 days late I’d expect a much darker result. And the 2nd test this morning should have definitely been darker than first after 36 hours…. Ugh. This sucks.

A chemical I can deal with, but an ectopic or another full-blown miscarriage scares me.
😭

I am sorry for your loss. I never had all that strong a test very early. I hope that all is well for you.

They appear to be different types of tests so can you compare the lines of different brands? I would buy a two pack of first response and test 3 days apart to see if there’s any progression. That’s what I did anyway.

Good luck and I hope it’s good news for you.

As hard as it is, no one can say. And no one can change it either. Nothing to do but wait.
I really hope it’s good news. I had five pregnancies - three losses (inc one ectopic) and two babies. All my losses I had crap lines and my babies I had strong lines immediately. Others have successful happy pregnancies from faint lines.
Just park it for Christmas. For now you’re pregnant and what will be will be.

Remember a chemical is an early miscarriage - if you are still early, they are likely to be similar.
But no one can say if it will end well or not, just try to take a deep breath and take one day at a time. I know it's hard, but focusing on it intently will make the whole thing so much harder on yourself

It depends on the sensitivity of the test and the concentration of the urine. You weren't tracking and could have ovulated later than you think. I know the urge to pee on a stick is strong. Trust me, it took 7 years for me to conceive via ICSI and I had several miscarriages, I could have taken out shares in clearblue the amount of tests I took. Wait a few days and test again. In the meantime don't drink .

Like a PP said, as hard as it is no one can really say.
I've had extremely dark positive tests that have ended in miscarriages (MMCs ) and extremely light positive tests for a weeks that ended in a successful pregnancy.

Just wanted to say that although no one on here can tell you if you're pregnant or not or what the outcome may be, I just wanted to send positive thoughts your way and hope you get your longed for dream.
