Pregnancy after miscarriage

Hi all, I am looking for a little bit of advice.
Just over a month ago, I suffered a miscarriage at eight weeks (around 18th Nov). I visited the hospital and had the symptoms confirmed. (20th Nov) I was requested to do another pregnancy test three weeks later, which I did on the 11th of December. Which showed as negative.
I have been waiting for a period ever since, to get an understanding of when we could try again. About a week and a half ago to 2 weeks ago I was getting symptoms (hormonal etc) which made me believe my period was coming. I have had on-off symptoms since with no period arriving. I am now getting twinges and pressure in the left side of my lower abdomen, which I had before during pregnancy. Understandably, it’s too early, but I am now beginning to believe I could be pregnant again. I have never had these sorts of feelings before when a period is due. I usually get my pains and aches during my period.
Anyway, with the understanding it’s too early to do a home pregnancy test to confirm what I am thinking.
Does anybody know if there is a chance that I could get a blood test or something? (Again, I understand it could still be a little bit too early. But I could wait a few more weeks.)
Also, they ask the date of your last period starting. I haven’t had a period since I miscarried if it does turn out that I am pregnant. What happens with that?
Do they work out how many weeks later down the line?
I know there won’t be miracle workers on here but can anybody offer any advice maybe with the dates that I have given? Just so I have an idea of what to do and when to do it?
The unknown feeling during pregnancy is one thing, but obviously not knowing when/if I conceived is another.
I would appreciate any feedback or advice I genuinely would, thank you.

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. At this point I understand it must be tough not knowing but if it’s too early then you need to wait as normal and do a pregnancy test when it’s time. All of the other questions aren’t relevant till you find that out then maybe think about that

I'm sorry for your loss and hope you're doing OK. A blood pregnancy test is positive only a few days sooner than a urine test, so it wouldn't make much difference in terms of waiting to do the urine test. And I doubt you'd find anyone to do a blood hcg for you without a strong indication. If dates are unknown they'll just date your pregnancy from the scan, this happens quite often so they're used to dealing with it. If you know your conception date roughly then you'll know when you can test at home. Hope all works out well for you 💐

@Adamsapple89 @remaininghopeful23
I appreciate your responses and kind words.
I thought this may be the case but I thought I’d ask for a bit of advice. Just not knowing the first day of my last period etc, makes everything hard.

UPDATE:
After writing and posting the above post on 22/12/24 I began to think about the possibility of me ovulating, which could have been causing the weird feelings and pressure. I took an ovulation test and it showed positive. Then it crossed my mind, could the ovulation test pick up if I’m pregnant? With a quick Google it answered, yes it could pick up hgc when pregnant. So I was kind of back to square one. I spoke to my partner about all of it and we decided we were going to do a test on Christmas Eve. I did the test and straight away I had the darkest line come up within seconds of it travelling up the stick! 🤭
So today I am here back with an update, but.………
Over the past few days I have been suffering with a lot of of the usual symptoms I had before and some additionals. my breast are so sore, my whole body aches, I get chest heaviness, my mood swings are awful, I am so miserable, I have tightness and pressure across my tummy,
but the slightly more worrying symptom is that I found blood when I wiped earlier. I understand there can be spotting and more so when inplantation occurs. But due to the my workings out, I should be beyond the implantation. After all your hCG begins being released beyond implementation, right? Or there abouts. Please for give me if I've got it all wrapped around my neck. The not knowing and the real hope of carrying a healthy baby….
Everything may be fine and I may be overthinking it, but that is probably due to what has happened previously. I just want everything to be okay. I don’t want to go through that again.

Congraulations that’s lovely news 💕 it sounds like all normal symptoms that go with pregnancy. The bleeding is a tough one because you don’t know how far along you are. But a lot of women experience it, I did at 12 weeks and it turned out to be nothing just some old blood. If it’s not heavy accompanied by pain I wouldn’t worry I know that’s a lot easier said than done. Maybe get a digital test and see what that says re weeks

Thank you @Adamsapple89
I will monitor the bleeding and fingers crossed 🤞it is nothing to worry about.
