Hi there.

I'm about to turn 37 on the 23rd December and have been ttc for about a year and a half for a first baby. We had a miscarriage at 6 and a half weeks in May of this year, which was devastating. However I have PCO and a Bicornuate Uterus, so knew these could complicate things. We've continued to try since then with no luck, until Monday when I tested and got a very faint postive on a cheap test. I'd still be super early even now, around 4 weeks 3 days.

I ran out of cheap tests so the only one I had in the house was a digital with date which I took on Wednesday. I thought I'd try but half expected a negative as the cheap, more sensitive one was so light. To my surprise it came back pregnant 1- 2 weeks. I tested again today on a cheap test and the line hasn't darkened at all, or may have even gotten lighter. Which I thought was strange as I'd of expected it to be darker if the digital was picking up levels.

Has anyone experiences a successful pregnancy where the line didn't get darker? With my miscarried pregnancy the line got dark pretty quickly so I'm worrying and thinking the worst.

Thanks!

I would give it a couple of days and test again. Sometimes, it does take several days for the line to get darker. Also, it depends on how much you have drunk and the time of day the test was taken.

I took one cheap test which was feint and then I bought two first response and took those 3-4 days apart to see the line get darker and they were more reassuring. I’ve heard some cheap tests can take a while. Good luck.

Thanks both that's reassuring. I'll give it a couple of days I guess and test again. Will hope for the best. x

I took about 4 cheap Boots tests rather than paying ££££ for the ClearBlue ones, they were all faint lines and never got darker -- but I'm nearly 14 weeks and definitely having a baby! Fingers crossed for you OP 🌈🤞🏼🍀

Aww that's lovely to hear @OpOptimisticRealist2024. I'm really hoping everything will be OK this time around. I'm just questioning everything right now! Best of luck with baby :) hope everything goes smooth for you until they arrive :)

Hi just to reassure you yes - my tests never got dark and I am 35 weeks :)
The line progression thing doesn't seem to work for everyone - as long as it doesn't fade I'd say you're fine - congrats!

Thanks Remy87. I feel better knowing the lines progression doesn't necessarily mean anything. Congratulations, what a lovely start to 2025 for you. Best of luck with your last few weeks. :)

Thanks. Unfortunately I've woke up today and have some brown spotting when I wipe. I'm not feeling super confident given my previous mmc so I'm just going to see how it goes. Not a great start to my birthday to be honest.

Oh no @AliPali87 so sorry to read that. Could be implantation bleeding? I'll keep everything crossed for you Flowers

Yeah I don't know. It's not a huge amount, and no real pain other than a little heaviness in the pelvis. I got a prescription for progesterone the last time I had a miscarriage so I've started taking that. I know it won't help if it's not a viable pregnancy, but might if it is. Just hoping things don't get any worse, and will hope for the best.
Thanks :)

Woke up this morning to bleeding. No real pain at the moment but not feeling very positive.
Just all feels a bit hopeless at the moment. I know I don't know anything for sure, but was really hoping this time would be different. Will have to see what happens over the next few days.

I'm really sorry to hear that OP. The waiting and not knowing is so stressful.

Thanks for your message. The bleeding has subsided but I think it started like this last time when I had the previous miscarriage. I still have hope that maybe it's something to do with the progesterone I'm taking but it feels like that might be wishful thinking. Will call EPAU tomorrow and see whether they'll see me.
