Brain being unhelpful: anxious about 12 week scan

Feel a bit silly as I know there's nothing I can do if it is bad news, but I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday (I'll be 13 weeks) and just can't get my brain to shut up about MMC.

I had an early loss over the summer (baby measured 7 weeks and I found at 10), and I know that this pregnancy had a heartbeat at 6+3. I've had no symptoms (eg bleeding) to make me think I'm miscarrying.

I think I just want to hear positive stories - anyone had a MMC and then a scan that turned out absolutely fine? Hoping the stats are in my favour and there are lots of good news stories out there.

Have avoided private scans because I know how quickly things can change so felt the temporary relief was too cruel for me. But can't help feeling like I'm very nearly almost there...and something will be wrong.

MMCs are so cruel - I've had two. One found out at 12 weeks, one found out at 10 weeks. But before then I had a very straight forward pregnancy with my daughter, and I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with her sister.

It's far more likely to be absolutely fine, I didn't change anything - just luck of the draw I guess! I kept telling myself that this pregnancy is not related to the MMC, it's its own journey so to speak.

Best of luck for Tuesday, I'll have everything crossed for you. No bleeding etc is a great sign x

@OptimisticRealist2024 my last pregnancy was a mmc at ten weeks. I had a normal scan at 10 weeks and found out at 12 weeks. I had nipt in that pregnancy so I know it was due to chromosomal abnormalities. When you look up the stats mmc is actually very uncommon. I think you see lots of people on mumsnet who have had one because you are more likely to seek support online after having one. I’m pregnant again and everything is ok so far at 13 weeks but I’m still very anxious. Best of luck with your scan.
