Hello! :)
Just found out I am pregnant with my 2nd! - been feeling awful but thought the toddler had passes a bug on. Done 2 tests and both positive which is great and we are so happy. However I'm due to go on a work night out tonight lol classic timing! Reckon it'll be easy to pretend/have mocktails and get away with it? :)

Currently pregnant with my second and will be 8 weeks at our work Christmas dinner. I'm going with I've not had a drink since I've been pregnant with my first, a work Christmas night isn't the time to make a come back!

It worked a couple of weeks ago so don't think anyone will mention again. I do quite enjoy a non-alcoholic gin or beer though. It's quite nice to have one of those rather than drink fizzy juice full of sweetener all night.

I went to a wedding at 7 weeks pregnant. I told the bride only. She arranged for a bottle of AF prosecco to be on my table and seated me and DH with strangers who don't know my drinking habits, and my friends seated elsewhere didn't notice the label on the bottle. By the time dinner was over everyone was drunk and not paying attention. I had mocktails the rest of the evening.

I'm now almost 15 weeks and starting to show (thank goodness it's big jumper season!), but I still haven't told colleagues as I'm still waiting on my combined screening results. We had our work Christmas do last night. I volunteered to be designated driver as the do location isn't comfortably accessible on public transport from my house anyway - problem solved.

The antibiotics thing never works. I knew of my friends/colleagues was pregnant years ago the minute she made this excuse years ago, claiming it was linked to toothache. I've had toothache before and I made a right song and dance about it as it was agony, so I knew straight away she was lying 😂

Mocktails and lime and soda and zero beer worked. No one asked or twigged anything so was very easy! :-)

As your toddler has passed bugs around you could always just say you’re still feeling a little bit drained, and don’t feel like drinking. Plus want to take her out early without hangover. Congrats on your news!
