2nd baby - feeling unprepared…

It’s just dawned on me that I’m 37 weeks today. 😳 I’ve got an ELCS planned for 16 (!) days time. By this point with DD I felt ready and organised, and I even moved house at 8.5 months pregnant, but this time it all feels impossibly soon.

I stop work on 18th (wfh) and actually have a fair amount to do before I go so that’s a drag, but it’s all the washing and bloody getting ready (on top of the Christmas prep I grudgingly started at the beginning of Nov) that I’m finding overwhelming. DP is doing his fair share so no moans there but he’s also working like a maniac to be able to take time off later, so we’re both a bit 😵‍💫!

Anyone else feel like this with their second? It’s taken me by surprise how fast it’s all come around.

Sorry for the rant. I’m just a grumpy very pregnant person aware it’s my own bloody fault for working too late and having a baby at Christmas, I think!

Also, winter is a bloody pain in the arse for nonstop washing isn’t it?! ☹️

It prepares you for the mayhem of constantly feeling on the drag when your second arrives. X

I'm not as far on as you as only 24 weeks but I am definitely the same in second pregnancy.

First time round I was all consumed, making a cute pregnancy journal, carefully making lists and getting everything I needed ready. I was so organised and ready to go by about 7 months!

This time, life is a chaotic mess as we are closing a business and relocating back to the UK, selling and buying a house, all while looking after our 4 year old. Some days I barely even remember I'm pregnant!
Not even started thinking about baby things yet and can quite imagine that I'll be rushing around and panic buying in the last few weeks 🙈

A friend did point out that all a baby really needs is food, warmth and shelter at the beginning..... everything else you can order as and when like toys and decorating the nursery etc so don't put too much pressure on yourself.
