Craving unhealthy food

I am only 4/5 weeks pregnant and I already have quite bad sickness, seems to be morning, day and night... Not sure why they call it morning sickness!

I am only wanting really unhealthy processed foods such as fries, salted crisps, toast with lots of butter and cereal. I normally have a very healthy diet but the thought of meat, fish or salad makes me feel a bit sick. I never had this with my first, I still had a really good appetite but this time round is different.

I am a bit worried my diet might be stuck like this for a while and I am worried about my health as well as baby. At this stage am I best to force myself to eat good foods even though I really don't fancy it?

I had this too, but at the end of the day eating any types of food is better than nothing. Im now in my second trimester and my appetite is a lot more normal (I just cant stomach chicken but thats an issue I've had on and off since before pregnancy) Eat whatever you are craving! I had awful sickness and found salted crisps were the one thing that I could eat no problem x

Honestly in the early days if sickness is bad, just eat whatever will stay down. I had horrendous sickness especially in my first trimester when I was pregnant with my daughter and for weeks my diet was basically just dry crackers, salt & vinegar crisps, frozen grapes and anything else I could keep down, it definitely wasn’t a great diet but it was all I could stomach at the time. She’s now a perfectly healthy 7 month old.

Pretty much my exact diet the entire first trimester - I had terrible sickness from 5/6 weeks and my doctor said anything was better than nothing. The main thing is staying hydrated.

21 weeks now and my diet is a lot healthier and more varied

Eat whatever you can stomach and don't feel guilty!! I had awful sickness abd nausea until week 20 and could only stomach certain foods, it's about getting some kind of sustenance even if its not thr best kind

The only food I could keep down in first trimester was mcdonnalds big mac and fries. I couldn't even stomach substituting fries for oven fries at home, had to be mcdonnalds.
