ive been having really bad menstrual period like cramps since yesterday and they are constant, they dont go away or let up. they dont stop or go away with tylenol or rest or hydration and heating packs dont help. i’ve been to labor and delivery and they checked me and said i was 1cm dilated and they picked up contractions that are 7 to 12 mins apart from each other but then sent me home and said there’s nothing they can do unless im in labor. im not sure if these are contractions or not but if they are how do i time them if it’s constant pain? and if they aren’t contractions what is this new pain? i was having spotting awhile ago which they gave me the steroid shot for in case i go into preterm labor.

I'd ring up your triage/L&D and ask them to clarify how you should be measuring them and what the next steps are.

Can you feel your bump tightening? Mine used to go really hard and then when the contraction had eased off it would soften. It would always go an odd shape with the tightening too, surprised they sent you home at 35 weeks when they picked up contractions on the monitor. Definitely worth another call to them
