Anyone else struggling through 1st trimester?

I’m 9 weeks and struggling so much with nausea, bloating, constipation and tiredness.

I’ve been to the GP a few times and they’ve changed my nausea medication so hopefully I start to feel better soon 🤞

I’m under the consultant as my DS was under the 10th percentile and I had issues with my placenta so I’m taking aspirin and injecting blood thinners every day.

it all just feels a bit much on top of trying to work and spend time with my 3yo DS, my DH and the dog.

Anyone fancy joining my pity party? Misery loves company!

100% this. And hold down a full time job, lead a big team, and pretend I'm fine all day because I haven't told anyone at work I'm pregnant (only 8 weeks so want to wait). It sucks... in a very magical way. I hope you feel better soon xxx

Here for the misery party!! I'm struggling a bit. I'm going to bed every night dreading the sickness in the morning - I have a really phobia of sick, so it plays on my mind a lot. (I'm so relieved not to have HG!!) Also constipated, bloated, knackered - I'm like a potato that tries to log onto Teams every morning and pretends to have conversations about normal things (how dark it is, how much work there is, my non-existent weekend plans now I can't bear to leave the sofa). I've had a cold this past fortnight and just feel shitty. I'm fed up of eating crackers and sodding ginger tea. I got overwhelmed trying to measure myself for a new bra earlier and told DH I'll be going Charlie Dimmock until I know what size I am. Only 32 weeks to go... 😭

I'm not now but I'm here to offer support as this was me a couple of months ago!

I'm now 20+4 with my second and have found this pregnancy so much harder. Trying to look after DH and our 4yo and the dog etc while juggling work (we have our own business). The exhaustion has been on another level.

On the plus side though, you are right at the peak of it now and, for the majority of women, it does get better! I still have really hard days and I'm still knackered but it's nowhere near as bad.

100% for this group chat! this will be my second baby (i've had two losses since my son was born in 2020)...luckily not had any nausea but I am exhausted all the time, my appetite is through the roof and I work full time, family life and the back ache is starting to act up now....im about 7-8 weeks and already popped but tyring to hide it......it's gonna be a long pregnancy x

Sorry to hear that others are struggling too, but it’s weirdly comforting to know I’m not the only one!

I started new nausea meds last night and today is the first day in weeks that I’ve eaten breakfast and managed to walk the dog. Long may this continue. 🤞🤞

I am really struggling - I think it is a mixture of the change in season and the hormonal shift going on in my body but the usual glass half full me has been replaced with this negativity monster!

How is everyone feeling today?

I just posted a similar thread but I feel exactly the same! I’m only 6 weeks but the sickness is really getting to me, it’s constant. I’m also on aspirin, progesterone and blood thinners due to previous losses and the injections are making me miserable, I’m completely black and blue on my stomach.

Also have a 3 year old and working full time same as you - it’s hard!

BabyMama889 · 14/11/2024 19:58

I've had my baby already but the first trimester is still very vivid in my memory. I don't know how I held down my job. Or even managed to leave the house. It's so shit.

You will get through this, it just seems to drag on forever while you're in the middle of it.

I actually wish I had told people sooner that I was pregnant because once I did, they made a lot more allowances for me.

This was me a month ago! Felt horrendous and like each day was an absolute struggle. It got me so down and anxious. I ended up going on prochlorperazine which really helped take the edge off the nausea. No longer taking them now and things slowly started getting better from 14/15 weeks. Now 18 weeks - still have days where I am knackered but feel normal compared to the first trimester! 2nd baby so a toddler probably cause for some of the tiredness.
