I have lactulose to see if that helps, but is there anything else I can do to help?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dates - like prunes but actually taste nice

Rainbowsunshine81 · 10/11/2024 20:32

@ru53 Not a fan of dates, but willing to give them a try.

Make sure you get ground chia and flax seed not whole.

I suffer chronic constipation. No dietary changes seem to help me but exercise does.,

Prune juice, just a small glass does the trick

You could try dried dates and dip them in melted chocolate. I always ate dried ones and they still helped.

It’s kiwis for me! Get the golden kiwis - they’re much nicer and sweeter than the green ones.

Fibre is great for keeping you regular, but if you currently don't eat enough, then suddenly ramping up your fibre intake by a lot can actually make constipation worse. So gradually increase it, don't go crazy all at once! And make sure you drink plenty of water. NHS recommendation is 30g of fibre a day.

Exercise is also good for getting things moving.

@Thighdentitycrisis Thank you, I didn't realise there was a difference between them.

@Esdale Will make sure I gradually increase fibre. I always make sure I drink plenty of water, usually one of those big bottles.

@ru53 sounds nicer dipped in chocolate.

@GraySweatpants like the sound of the sweeter kiwi's than the other ones.

@Rosesanddaffs I think that's all I could take, just a small glass.
