Surprise pregnancy - number 3! Positivity please.

Just found out we are pregnant with baby number 3. Complete and utter surprise, not planned for! DS is 9 and DD is 6. I haven’t hit excited yet and need some positivity and some wonderful stories of 3 and with larger age gaps.

Congratulations I was exactly the same had a DS 10 and DD 5 and had a surpise pregnancy with my third DS who is now 17.
I have never regretted a single thing whilst the age gap is big in the early years once they get older it kind of disappears. He is close with both of his silblings and he has even been on holiday with his sister who is like his second mum. The 10 year age gap with his brother now 26 and 17 isnt a thing, they do things together and my eldest is now teaching him to drive. Time to get excited !!!

I'm middle of 3. Number 3 was a surprise I was 4 and my sister was 11.
We are really close as adults. It helped that we never went through the same things at the same time so we could support each other through puberty, exams boyfriend dramas etc.

I had a surprise third when my first was 18 and second was 9 🤦🏼‍♀️.
I'd suffered secondary infertility and had lots of help to conceive the second.
I didn't even know I was pregnant with the third until I was 26 weeks so I was all a whirlwind.
She slotted straight in and I can't imagine life without her now x

Congratulations! Oh this could be me soon, me and DH had one too many wines on Sunday and didn't use a condom (stupid!) I came off the pill about two years ago as it was making me a hormonal mess so we've been using condoms since. I'm pretty sure it's my "window" as I can always feel ovulation due to it being all natural. If I don't get my period in two weeks I'll soon find out! I have an 8 and 4 year old and we did discuss a 3rd last year and actively tried for a few months but nothing happened so we both decided it wasn't meant to be and DH has made it clear he doesn't want another but my eldest would adore a baby brother/sister and asks me often but I say no mummy is too old (I'm 35 and always said that was my cut off age)

You definitely need to get back to me if this ends up being you as well!! That was basically the same position as me in terms of how and why it happened!!

So I won't be joining you in the no3 club as my period arrived right on time. I was equally relieved and secretly a bit disappointed as in my heart I'd definitely do it one more time but in my head I know it's not a good idea. Anyway all the best with your pregnancy x

i have a 1 and 4 yo. I am a bit nervous - will have 2 under 2 for a bit. Eeeeek so not joining you on the age gaps but mainly on the getting my head around this…!!
