Pain - 14 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone,

I’m 14 weeks pregnant and for the last 3/4 days I’ve been having some unusual pain/discomfort at the bottom of my stomach/top of public area. It’s hard to describe but not a period pain and not wind, it’s sort of like a slow shooting pain that can radiate towards my belly button but it’s right in the centre so don’t think it’s round ligament pain. It’s not severe and it’s on and off but I’m very aware of it throughout the day.

I was at the antenatal clinic for bloods today and spoke to the HCA about it. She said it was likely stretching but went and spoke to the midwife. When she came back she said ‘the midwife said it could be stretching, but if you have a loss then speak to your community midwife or go to A&E’….I was a bit shocked by the lack of reassurance and her so blatantly talking about a loss. I asked if she meant if I started bleeding and she said ‘yes normally pain comes first so if you start bleeding call your midwife but we won’t do anything for pain’.

I am already very anxious after having a first trimester loss in January and that interaction has left me feeling even more worried. So I’ve come to Mumsnet to find out if anyone else has had this sort of pain or discomfort and can offer a bit of reassurance?

Thanks!
