Pregnant at 43 after a MMC

Hi,
I just wondered if anyone with a story similar to mine could share it please... I'm 43 years old I had a MMC in July (first pregnancy) ... was 42 then. This was discovered at a private 8 week scan, think it had stopped developing around 7 weeks. Had the MVA procedure which seemed to go fine.
Fast forward to now and I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I'm just feeling nervous in case the same happens. I know it can but just wondered if anyone had any successful stories they could share to put my mind at ease a little bit.
Also, did anyone get in touch with their GP and get offered more monitoring who were in a similar situation?

It is really nerve wracking. I am a few years younger but had virtually the same thing happen. I'm 19 weeks now and all is well. You won't get any additional monitoring if you have only had one miscarriage. As you probably know from past experience, no test or scan tells you what will happen in the future anyway and there is nothing they can do to change the outcome this early. If you have any bleeding you might be offered progesterone (I was as i had a sub chorionic haematoma which has now resolved). The wait for our 8 week (private) and then 12 week scans were exhausting but I have relaxed into it since. Wishing you well.

At 43 it's really a flip of a coin - all I can do is offer you a hand hold and help you wait it out. I really hope it's a sticky baby - and it very well could be. xxx

No advice but just jumping on to say congratulations and wishing you lots of luck. I'm 43 and have just posted about whether to try at this age, so it's lovely to have seen your post !

I had a MMC and found out I was Preg with twins 6 months later, you can never know what might happen! It was a nervous pregnancy but all turned out fine. Good luck and look after yourself xxx
