Desperate!! Age 40 Methotrexate or expectant management

Hello.
I am currently being treated for my second ectopic this year.
In January I had one on the right side which was treated with expectant management.
Now it is on the left side, I couldn't have the methotrexate injection after because they could see a small amount of fluid and I was desperate to keep all my tubes.
If I have this injection I'll be 41 by the time I can start trying again. I'm also concerned that the methotrexate will damage whatever eggs I have left. On the other hand I'm not sure if my nerves can handle another expectant management plan. Does anyone have any advice

At 40, could you ask to be referred for fertility advice? I wonder if you could look at freezing eggs for IVF (you don't need your tubes for that, I believe, should that be an issue)? Whether that's an option might depend on how much you can delay the methotrexate. I don't have any personal experience (other than a male family member being told they weren't to get anyone pregnant for at least three months after stopping the drug).
