So scared I wont cope with morning sickness

As it says in the title really. I was a mess with DC1 and I really struggled emotionally and mentally due to sickness.

I’ve just found out today I am pregnant with no 2 and honestly instead of being excited I am petrified. I feel like I can’t do it again. Honestly I delayed trying for a second for many years as I was too scared.

I don’t feel capable to do this and am just dreading the days ahead. Any advice?

I will take anti sickness drugs as I did last time. Just want to be able to cope mentally and feel stronger.

@MotiRoller thank you for your kind words. Did xonvea help you? Is it better than cyclizine?

Congrats!
Do you mean you have emetophobia OP? What mental health support, CBT, counselling have you had so far? Acupuncture or hypno might help too.
If you aren't having counselling currently, then please speak to your GP.

I had HG with 5 of my 6 pregnancies. I took ondansetron from 5/6 weeks and had regular hospital visits for 1-2 days for IV fluids and anti sickness. No idea why with one dc I literally wasn’t sick once and zero nausea that was very strange !

OP- How many times are you going to post the same thing on various threads??? Have a bath, shower, read a book and try to sleep! Please get some help tomorrow x

Unnecessarily rude to someone who is anxious and suffering - how is this helpful? Perhaps don’t reply and bath, shower or sleep yourself.

They helped more than cyclizine but I was still out of action for everything except the most basic WFH (on laptop in bed) for 2 months. I realize not everyone is fortunate to have that option. If I hadn’t I’d probably have had to have been signed off.

The main thing is I had/have quite bad water aversion in pregnancy meaning I was v dehydrated and they helped with that

Also re the other message above, I spent much of those two months Googling HG/acute pregnancy nausea, reading other women’s stories and crying. So I very much understand the need to post.

How are you feeling today? If you are able to ask for ondanestron you should hopefully find that really helpful. I was prescribed it in liquid form as I couldn't even swallow the tablets and it made everything so much more manageable. It's really horrible having HG and goes far beyond the "just eat a ginger biscuit and it will pass" coping strategy. Do definitely seek medication and push for it if you have to. Hope you're ok x
