Pubic symphysis/ post natal pains

Hey guys, having pain troubles! It all started with intense groin pain about 3 weeks after giving birth to my beautiful twinnies (I had one via vaginal delivery and one via emergency C section) doctor told me I had overdone things….my girls have been in NICU for 7 weeks now, also I stupidly followed the advice of doctors and midwife’s who told me to walk 20 minutes a day to help with C section healing. That pain started to settle and then a nurse on the unit pulled my chair into recline suddenly without telling me beforehand and I felt that part of my groin pull and was in intense pain. Ever since I have had intense groin and pubic pain every few days, one doctor has said it may be pubic symphysis but all other doctors have said it’s just healing from a traumatic birth and I just need to suck it up and get in with it. I’ve been hobbling into the ward on crutches some days and completely fine other days. It’s awful. I also again stupidly took a doctors advice to go to physio and that’s made the pain even worse!! Anyone else struggled/ struggling with this? My girls are being discharged next week; one on oxygen; and I’m not sure how to manage at home . Any tips on dealing with chronic pain? Both practically and mentally?

Congratulations firstly! I have no first hand knowledge or experience, but I’d be asking for investigations and second opinions re the pain etc. You’ve already been given different ‘reasons’ and I don’t think that’s acceptable. You don’t really know where you are or what exactly the problem is.

@Surprise50 thank you. I’ve asked and asked for investigations or specialist referral but it keeps getting dismissed as ‘normal’ pain. I’m waiting for out of hours GP to call me now. I keep telling doctors that I can’t do my normal day to day activities and the pain is getting worse but all they say is to keep taking pain relief. It’s getting to the point where it’s really frightening me. I haven’t seen my girls for a whole day and it’s really getting to me

Have you made it clear how it came on? The sudden groin pull etc?

@Surprise50 yes I have, I’ve spoken to a lot of doctors. I’m now taking their advice and resting at home. My babies are still in hospital and won’t be discharged until next week; so I haven’t been able to see them 😢 my partners mum is moving in to look after them. I have my 6 week check next week and my brother is coming with me for support as I feel like no one is taking me seriously
