I'm not pregnant am I?

6 days overdue.
3 negative tests.
2 with first morning (well not quite first morning as I always go to loo in the night)

Further Context - I have a child, but know significant issues affecting fertility including endo. But, periods have always always been regular as clockwork . The only periods I have ever missed have been when I was pregnant.

I'm going a bit peculiar thinking about this.

If your period is late and your tests are negative, you're not pregnant. It's perfectly normal to have a late/missed period occasionally, even if you haven't before.

I'm 40 and have never missed (or even had a late) period in my life other than when pregnant. It just seems bizarre (and certainly not normal for me) but maybe it's peri menopause striding in with a bang! Fun :(

It could be the start of peri. I definitely noticed my cycles starting to get more erratic (some longer, some shorter than normal) after 40, and now I’m pushing 44 it’s even worse.

Sorry OP if you're wanting to be pregnant. Yes maybe peri menopause starting. Definitely not pregnancy if your tests are negative though.

sel2223 · 12/09/2024 11:57

I turned 40 and it was like someone flipped a switch instantly and my cycles immediately went haywire!
They've literally been like clockwork all my adult life (aside from pregnancy and breastfeeding) but suddenly my cycles started getting super long (40-45 days) and I missed a couple of periods altogether.
Definitely think perimenopause!

Somehow despite all of this, I am now 12 weeks pregnant and will be 42 when I'm due! I got my BFP on cycle day 54!!

Hey, it happens. Don't stress about it. I had a friend who never had one but still got preggers. Sometimes it can be so light that it's practically a no-show. Things l;ike stress can delay it for a few months but really, do not worry about it. After 8 weeks and still no-show book an appointment with your GP for peace of mind.

Wow @sel2223 congrats!

Thanks all. Sounds like def peri menopause then. How crackers. For some reason I thought it might all start a bit more gradually. I have upped my running recently so it's possible this has affected it too. At least I know my weekend wine is safely consumed ;)
