We've been trying for 5 months and I'm finally pregnant. And I'm so scared. And I feel guilty for being scared. Last time I was giddy and excited, this time I wake up with dread each morning. How will I cope with 2?

My mental health was awful last time. It feels like this might finish me off.

I have a 5month old DD2 - DD1 was 2yrs 9month when she was born. Firstly, I'd say all these worries are totally normal! I fretted all the way through the pregnancy and I was especially worried about leaving DD1 for the birth. I also had preeclampsia at the end of pregnancy so I was pretty useless help at home! But it all works out. They have a beautiful bond and are so cute together.

But I would say, if you can afford to get your oldest in some playschool / nursery / preschool sessions now, it will hugely help. Even if its just the 15hrs funded for a couple of mornings. Firstly because it means they will be settled well before baby comes and a great routine when everything changes, but secondly because it will give you time on your own with baby to establish feeding (if you choose to bf) or bond in the very early days. The early days are tough and having a break from a toddler will certainly help all of you.
