Antenatal with baby no2

Did anyone do antenatal classes for their second baby? I remember most of it (it was about 4 years ago) but it’s more we’ve moved house since and I’d like to make some friends for maternity leave, would I seem a bit strange going again for no2?

I considered it, but didn't go for it.

My area doesn't offer the NCT refresher course, so it would have had to have been the regular course. It had been a long lonely pandemic with my first (6 months old at the first lockdown), and would have liked to see if I could have the normal experience with my second. If they'd been face to face I probably would have done, but they were still online at the time, and I couldn't justify it.

Fortunately I made some friends at a baby group instead. Tbh for the most part I was so busy with my eldest that it wouldn't have been worth it anyway.

Is your eldest at school? I found I needed to keep my eldest entertained, so had to do activities suited to her. She would have been bored only doing activities targeted at newborns up to 1 year.

@Dyra my eldest will start school Sept 25, but is in nursery 4 days a week anyway. So I’m worried I’ll be a bit lonely! I was going to do bump and baby club again which is a full course.

My first is in school and we're in a new area so I was considering it. NCT is £270 so it's a lot of money really. I've got friends through my son's school but it'd be nice to know people with babies at the same stage. I really can't decide cause it's a risk I won't gel with them and then a waste of money. It'll probably sell out before I make my mind up😂

@meltedchocolateandstrawberries the antenatal I was looking at is £180- still a lot to waste if you aren’t keen on the other people! I imagine it’ll book up this month so I need to make a decision soon!

I never had any as was pregnant with first in covid and with 2nd was too busy with eldest. But honestly- go for it! If you can afford them and you've got the time and inclination go for it x

I had this same dilemma and have used the app peanut to meet some mums to be nearby instead. So far it seems to be going ok.
