Hi everyone,
i am going for daily monitoring at the OAU but since yesterday I have noticed a huge change in babies movements. Just not moving as much as they would usually even today I’m not sure what to do as I’m going in anyway for monitoring everyday, do I call triage or just wait until tomorrow for the monitoring. I’m still really unhappy with the movements

If you've noticed a significant change in movement regardless of the daily monitoring I would be calling and asking to be seen.

I just feel like I'm being annoying especially when the CTG comes back normal and me going every morning 😭

@Heni05
Nope nope nope! You're not annoying at all. Please do be seen. It's their job! Don't even think twice about what they may think (although I'm certain they won't think you're being annoying anyway) you and your baby mean more than some strangers opinions. I can guarantee they will be pleased you went in and will reassure you 🙏

My god, I went in yesterday evening to be seen by the midwife and she was like “what do you want us to do for you?” Because I’ve already had a CTG monitoring already, I’m classified as high risk and she told me it’s 4 hour wait when usually I’m seen within 15 minutes.. so ridiculous her whole attitude was disgusting and making it seem like I’m crazy for going in again a second time. Later I just discharged myself and another midwife says “babies don’t move 24/7” like yeah I know, it’s my second baby.. just I’ve seen a huge difference In the pattern

Trust your instincts and don't let other people's attitudes put you off, even if they are the professionals. As a Mum your first responsibility is to safeguard your baby. This is unlikely to be the only time you will have to advocate for your child! Be strong. Even if it turns out that you were mistaken you will know that you were doing the right thing for your baby.

I'm going in today again for the daily monitoring and might ask to be seen by a consultant as the movements have changed by a lot since Thursday I don’t know what they will decide or do as baby is not even head down and I literally am due in about 3 weeks. It's all so frustrating

@Heni05 urgh! I'm sorry you've been made to feel this way :(

CC222 · 31/08/2024 19:02

I'm so sorry they treated you that way. It's absolutely unacceptable. You trust your gut instincts, call triage any time you're concerned, they have to see you.
It's not long to go now, but you keep calling if you're worried, no matter how long they make you sit and wait...
Trust your body, trust your baby.. x
