2 false positive pregnancy tests (Clearblue digital with weeks indicator)

Hi all

I missed my period on the 27th of June so naturally I took a pregnancy test. It was a Clear blue weeks indicator test.

This test told me I was 1-2 weeks pregnant. Over the following 3 weeks I took additional tests with all of them being 'not pregnant'. I took another one yesterday and again it said 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' and now it's back to 'not pregnant'. This is becoming an emotional roller coaster. My last period started on the 9th of June.

I am frustrated. I have been to the doctors twice and I am not pregnant. I have not taken any medication that would effect the test and I also don't have any medical conditions that would do this.

The doctor is certain I haven't had a chemical pregnancy. I have always tested in the morning and it is the same pregnancy. There have been no additional sexual encounters. I can't count the number of tests I've taken at this point.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this?

Most tests are very unreliable the first one to two weeks because hormone levels go up and down. I wouldn’t bother testing until 3 weeks after the missed period.

I'm now 11-12 weeks after my missed period and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant yesterday and now it's 'not pregnant' today. I am totally confused.

What a load of crap. If you don’t know what you are talking about don’t comment!

op-HCG is suppose to double every 48 hours. HCG is the hormone tested for in a pregnancy test. To still be getting 1-2 weeks 6 weeks on means something is wrong. Most likely a missed miscarriage.

can you book a private scan?

I have been trying but I haven't been able to find anywhere- the GP has referred me to Gynaecology but he's warned me it'll be at least a month before they see me (sigh)

Please ask to see a different doctor. Having HCG when not pregnant can indicate several things, some of which can be serious. Email the practice manager if you have no joy.

Also just for clarification the first day of my last period was the 9th of June and the first day of my missed period was the 11th of July. I am registered blind so please forgive me. I have had help now to make sure these dates are correct.
