Spotting v early miscarriage

Found out I was pregnant 3 days ago making me 5 weeks 5 days - started having some brown spotting yesterday and it’s very light with some cramps and then some more today
hospital told me to expect a miscarriage and sent me home but unsure wether it’s a normal spotting issue - very stressed

I had both and the only thing that will tell u is time. In my case, when it was a miscarriage, the spotting relatively quickly developed into a very heavy bleeding for a few days, heavier than a period. When it was a successful pregnancy, the spotting turned into a single case of gushing blood (i thought it was over) and then stopped right after. In my experience at least, if you see tissue/clots, then it's probably not the best news.

i would wear a pad and monitor it if i was you. i experience heavy light red bleeding in my second pregnancy but was something to do with my cervix.

my sister during her current pregnancy had bled brown spots at the start which devolved into heavy red bleeding but is still pregnant thankfully.

i am surprised they didn't refer u to the EPU.
