Cramping when pregnant

Hey,

I am looking for some advice, I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have been getting period like cramping which can be quite uncomfortable.

It happens around once a day or some times every other day. Reading online it seems to be a very common symptom however it says only if it’s ‘mild’. Mine feel like pretty strong period cramps across my whole pelvic area and back and it makes me have to stop what I am doing and sit on the toilet and rock until it goes. It only lasts around 5 minutes.

Is this normal/has anybody else experienced this? I know someone else who is pregnant currently and they do not experience this so I’m comparing. I have anxiety anyway so finding this experience challenging and really trying not to over think. I have no bleeding/abnormal looking discharge.

I have an early scan booked for 8 weeks for peace of mind anyway but always think the worse!

Thanks x

Hi love! Cramping is completely common/normal and can be quite severe for some women!

They say that cramping is not concerning as long as there's no blood, which you don't have so I'd say you're okay as pants as it is! :) if you do get any bleeding contact your local EPU.

Remember you're stretching beyond normality in there so cramping is expected! Your uterus is growing to house baba x

Thank you for responding, this has made me feel better!

I think because online it’s says ‘mild’ and mine definitely isn’t it made me worry but like you said there is no bleeding so I just need to try and relax.

xx

I get it darling, everything is a worry! The joys 🥰

Have a look at some of the threads on here, sooo many women have really, really bad cramps. Like I say if there's no bleeding then EPU won't even be concerned xxx
