Hi ladies, just looking for some reassurance, second pregnancy, first ended in a mmc last years, so quite nervous. Have had light spotting throughout this pregnancy, have been for two very early scans and pregnancy everything looked fine, have another scan this Thursday. Currently about eight weeks. Since the weekend I’ve had constant spotting, ranging from light pink to dark red, only on wiping none on pad. Epu has advised do not come in unless filling a pad or in pain. Which I have neither of, I understand a scan is the only way I’ll know but until I’ve my scan I’m looking for some positivity. I am a realist who understands it can go both ways, just wondering has anyone had this and it has been ok. Thanks so much in advance

My friend started spotting around that time, maybe a bit later but pre 12 week scan. Had had many miscarriages, was gutted and figured that would be it. Had quite a heavy bleed whilst awaiting an emergency scan scheduled for the Monday.

Said "the hell with it" and drank 2 large glasses of white wine at Pizza Hut that afternoon on the Sunday as she knew how this would end.

Went for the scan and there was a strong heartbeat, a little foetus shaped thing bouncing around and they could even see where the bleed came from in the lining.

Kid born on her due date, 16 years later has just got a handful of 7, 8 and 9s (A and Bs) in her GCSEs last Thursday.

I have had spotting throughout this pregnancy on and off, I am now 21 weeks with a healthy baby in there. It is scary when it happens but I am now reassured by baby’s movements. I don’t bother calling anymore because I know they will say to just call back if I get heavy bleeding or severe pain. I only get very light spotting.

I didn’t get any spotting in my last pregnancy but had 2 mcs before that so it is scary, but I think it’s just hormones causing my cervix to bleed a little sometimes. I just keep an eye on it when it happens and will call if I get red blood, a lot of blood or pain.

good luck, the part of pregnancy before you can feel any movement is really hard. X

Thank you ladies for taking the time to respond, the unknown is always the worse in these situations x

I had bleeding at the same stage, and with some pain, in my first pregnancy. No apparent reason for it other than my body adjusting. I gave birth to a very healthy 9lb baby at 41 weeks. Good luck op x
