Will baby be okay?

Im 11 weeks pregnant and my three year old jumped on the side of my tummy just around my pelvis. It was bloody sore but now I'm worried for the baby. No blood or anything, just usual ligament pains.

Any tips or advice? I'm due my 1st scan in a week. Shall I just wait it out? Will baby be ok? I thought I'd be less of a worrier this time around...

I'm sure the baby will be ok. They are pretty well protected in there.

Baby is well protected in there, especially at 11 weeks. My toddler kicked off my stomach at 12ish weeks and I remember stressing about it, but baby is quite lowdown/behind public bone at that point I think.

You'll be absolutely fine. You'll soon get used to your bump being assaulted by your toddler!

Lol I feel like I permanently have one hand up in the direction of my toddler to protect my bump these days 😅😆 It's become 2nd nature now

I really worried when I was about 9 weeks and my dog jumped on my lap and put his paw on my belly really hard. I was so upset, but they were fine and I have a healthy 21 week baby in there currently.

Yeah I fell down the stairs at 20 weeks 😅 from the top. Was quite sore. I called midwife for reassurance. Apparently toddler assaults and falls is a regular occurance.

Ah thanks everyone- you've really put my mind at rest. We still haven't told her as wanted to wait after the scan. I'm hoping she stops landing dogs in my belly after that but you never know 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Baby will be fine, but I remember how I was around things like this when I was pregnant. I was so worried when I went swimming and someone accidentally kicked me in the stomach.

@T2024 You start to recognise the 'I'm about to jump on you' look aye 😂

@KatieMcC1989 You can start saying things like 'Mummies tummy is sore, please be gentle' without explaining why. I actually have tried to avoid saying anything about it being 'because of baby' to not make baby a negative thing

sel2223 · 27/08/2024 11:36

I'm 9 weeks and, for some reason, my 4 year old suddenly seems unable to avoid accidentally kicking my abdomen, landing on it, kneeling on it, falling on it, sticking an elbow in it.....
Maybe I just never noticed it before but it's all the time!!
I just try and protect my teeny bump as much as I can and reassure myself that they are very well protected in there. I've also been telling DD 'mummy has a poorly tummy, please be careful'

2mumlife · 27/08/2024 13:24

@sel2223 The elbows are the worse. My DD still sticks her little bony elbow into my bump when she's sitting on my lap reading stories and it can be really sore

@2mumlife Definitely, theres a look in their eyes alright 🤣🤣
