Maternity bikini vs big bottoms!

My little one and i go swimming weekly. Im starting to find my current bikini bottoms a bit of a squeeze . If I go straight to buying a maternity bikini will it be super baggy in the early stages? I’m trying to avoid buying lots of clothes that I’ll only wear for a limited period… but equally don’t want my bikini bottoms floating free in the pool! Or is it better to buy a large size bikini bottom until my bumps bigger?

if I go for a maternity bikini- does anyone have any recommendations? Most of the swimsuits seem to be tankinis or one pieces and I have a really long body so those always end up completely obscene.

I am long bodied (and tall - 5'10) and usually wear tankinis but I bought a maternity swimsuit i.e. an all in one and found that the extra stretch built in for the belly made it an okay length on my torso - I would think especially so if you're only just starting to change shape. I got mine from Sports Direct, it's a Speedo one and was only about £20 so it wasn't cripplingly expensive or I might have been less willing to try it!

My problem is also that my bum is comically huge in relation to the rest of me (even with a bump !) so if I get it to fit over the bum , it’ll be quite gappy at top so the combination of the length of body it has to cover plus the difference in size means a lot more nipple than I’m comfortable with! If I go with a bikini I can accommodate the bum!

Makes sense! I guess if I were you I might just go for a bigger size of bottoms, especially if you just go for a cheap pair from Vinted or Sports Direct or somewhere. They can sit under your bump!

Think that’s going to be the way I go- I’m only ten weeks but I have a definite bump rather than a bloat which feels ridiculous when I didn’t show for ages last time!
