How far along am I?

I am 2 days late for my period. Just taken a pregnancy test and I am pregnant! So how far along would the doctors/midwives say I would be? Does it go from the first day of my last period?

Yes usually on a regular 28 day cycle the first day of your last period is cycle day one and where you start counting pregnancy weeks from.

Initially it will be calculated from first day of your last period. At the 12 week scan they will take measurements and give a more accurate estimate of due date; but it’s only an estimate! Hope it continues well

Thank you both. I was last pregnant 12 years ago so I feel completely new to everything!

As others have said, the initial dates will be taken from the first date of your last period until your scan, at which point they'll take actual measurements and you'll get a more accurate date.

I have long (40-45 day) and irregular cycles so knew the first date of last period wouldn't work for me. Sure enough I'm about 2 weeks behind that
