Cannabis edible during early pregnancy

Hello members,
I just found out I am pregnant and had cannabis edible 3 days after unprotected sex. The effects of edible were farmers more than what I had expected, I felt terrible and almost passed out.
extremely worried about what it must’ve done to the baby, according the implantation timeline I’m assuming that happened 7 days or after ingesting the edible.
lookinh for some reassurance, I really want this baby and the thought of harming it unintentionally is killing me. I do not smoke or drink at all otherwise, really regret trying the gummy that night.
has it happened ti anyone? And did they end up having a healthy baby?
help 😢

It's cannabis. You and the baby will be fine. The baby doesn't share a blood supply with you at all at this point, it's all cellular and the cannabis did not affect those cells.

@discoballdave thank you for your message, that’s some massive reassurance. Hope it’s true and the baby is safe!
thanks again

No experience but lots of people unknowingly drink alcohol in early pregnancy and have healthy babies, I can’t see how this would any worse.

OP if you go on the subreddit ‘tree parents’ and search ‘pregnancy’ you will find people who have vaped and consumed edibles their whole pregnancy to no ill effect

it might stop you spiralling

Thanks @regementaria I’ve found a lot of relevant content. Seems like I am out of the woods for now.

Please don’t worry about this. The baby will be absolutely fine.

Thepossibility · 22/08/2024 20:03

The baby wasn't attached via the placenta at that stage so it's fine.

my 2 SILs both smoked extensive amounts of weed, cigarettes and drank throughout all of there pregnancies (I know, we’re very low contact with them for many reasons) and all of their babies were (luckily!) fine.

I’m sure one edible that early, when you don’t share a blood supply yet will be fine so please don’t worry too much!

If you consumed an edible 3 days after unprotected sex you would have only just implanted or not even at all yet so you would have barely been pregnant. I went to a bottomless brunch and drank cocktails 2 days before finding out I was pregnant and the thought of drinking didn't even cross my mind. There are so many women who drink/smoke/ consume drugs before even missing their period so please don't feel bad, it's not even worth taking up any of your headspace.
