HCG levels don’t match scan

I had a scan today. I’ve been tracking periods, using OPk’s etc so was quite certain on dates and should 5 weeks +5 days.

Had a scan due to cramping and previous miscarriage. They called me back to say my HCG levels are higher than what my scan reflects (start of gestational sac in scan). I’ve to go back in 48hrs for a repeat scan and bloods.

Has anyone else had this before? What was the reason for it?

5week +5days is very early, and the conception could have been a few days later than ovulation. Also your baby is just a few mm at the moment, so it is easy to go up or down a few days

I knew for certain my conception date, because I have an ivf pregnancy, but the baby consistently measures few days behind, and so far everything seems normal. (I am 19week now)
