I finished taking the pill last December after being on it for 20 years. My husband and I have decided to try for babies. I eat quite healthy, predominately organic, no processed food, drink moderately and exercise regularly. Can anyone give me ideas of what I can do to enhance the chances of getting pregnant outside of the obvious? lots of sex.

Should probably add no sneezing to that list as well then!

Don't stress about it. I only TTC for a few months following m/c and quickly found my whole life revolved around it all. Then Xmas happened with parties, planning, excitement etc and i put it to the back of my mind. Had my BFP a few days into the new year last year!

I've also heard that drinking grapefruit juice in the first half of your cycle can increase cervical mucuc.

Have sex when you want to have sex. And throughout your cycle.

I bet you will get pg straight away. better get in the sushi, nice cheese, pates, and drinks now

(am curious if you like fertilityfriend - i really thought it was one of the best websites i'd ever used, for any reason!)

How about dressing up as teenagers getting drunk and doing it behind some old bikesheds!
Run up a huge credit card bill so you really can't afford one and hey presto baby is guaranteed to be on the way 9 months later.
Worked for half the girls in my year at school!!

Seriously though I got pregnant after 8 years on the pill after about 3 months. Good luck and just enjoy the sex!!

tbh - i would just relax and not stress too much. the more you tense up and try to do the "right" thing, the longer it will take. thats sods law. with DS, i tried to follow all the advise after coming off the pill and it took 4months, this time, we did it once and hey presto!

my only suggestion is to be aware of your cervical muscus as that is your body's own way of preparing you for conception

good luck!

Have sex when you really, really feel like it (not just cos you feel you should)- i.e. when you're totally into each other (often around the time when you're ovulating anyway). Bit embarrassed saying this (I am very English!) but truly believe it's a mind and body in sync thing..(hope that wasn't too cheesy!).

ditto on the grapefruit juice!

Ah? coughing afterwards? been there. (blush) I?m just really excited about the prospect of children. DH and I have been together for nearly 18years, so we feel it?s time to share. Adoption for us is certainly on the table as well. Easy tiger for sure? just really keen. I do everything full throttle. This site has provided me with some great insider info. Loving it.
