Im 28 weeks today and haven't reached this far since my first child which was over ten years ago, so my memory of pregnancy is a bit fuzzy!
Since this afternoon, I've been experiencing tightening/cramping/hardening in my lower abdomen, like bad period pain but with hardening as well, sometimes lasting a good ten mins or so, maybe longer, really uncomfortable. At first I thought maybe the baby was just in an awkward position, but it's happened a few times tonight since then. I am now also experience lower back ache and a weird pressure in my cervical area...
Obviously I've been an idiot and googled it and now I'm worried of the possibility of preterm labour!

Has anyone had this around 28 weeks and it just be Braxton hicks!?!???

Thanks in advance

Not to alarm you but that’s not what Braxton Hicks felt like to me. It just felt like tightening. No pain, no ache in cervix.

I would go and get checked out if I were you.

I had Braxton Hicks like this but much later on 35+ weeks so it wasn't a problem. At 28 weeks I would go and get checked for reassurance. Also if it is early labour they can give you things to prepare baby and or stop labour. They may recommend bed rest etc but ring the midwives and get some advice.

Sounds more like it could be baby moving position to me.
Hope you're feeling OK this morning OP

Thank you both for your comments. I was advised to drink more water and take pain killers and see how I got on overnight. It seems to have subsided by this morning so I may have just overdone it yesterday and been dehydrated! I will keep an eye on it though,m and call them again if I need to, thank you

I had this at 28weeks, this was 21 years ago though. I thought I was in labour (2nd baby, so I knew what it felt like) It turned out it was a prob with my liver and my bilirubin was through the roof. They kept me in and gave me injections to mature the baby's lungs incase of early labour.
To be honest I don't know why doctors say "take pain killers" you're in pain so there's something wrong, pain killer just mask the problem not fix it. But for you, trust your mothers instinct. If something doesn't feel right, go and get seen to. Good luck x💐✨️
