Hello,

I am now 39 weeks pregnant, the last few weeks of my pregnancy have been very stressful due to finding out the baby has dropped over 55 percentiles and having SPD.
I'm feeling so miserable and anxious over everything paired with the fact the pain in my hips is now so bad I haven't slept more than 40min at once in 3 days.
I'm so tired and stressed I can't stop crying..
I've tried contracting my own midwife(no response) the local midwife base and PAU and was given no support or advice.
Does any one have any tips on what I can try to get through the next potentially two weeks or who else I can contact for help?

In terms of managing the SPD I've tried heat, cold, walking, stretching, baths, birthing ball and paracetamol and nothing seems to work. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Sorry you're in so much pain OP, i take it you are already taking paracetamol? Have you tried to get through to your GP?

Thank you! I have tried paracetamol but no help and the gp just told me to ring my midwife but each time I try no one gets back to me. It's all very frustrating xx

I was in so much pain with this too, it's awful. Birthing ball was comfiest for me to sit on. Also just do as little as possible now, only walk when you have to , limit walking upstairs etc. You just need to sit tight for the next couple of weeks, hopefully less.

Talk to your midwife about planning to induce sooner rather than later if you go overdue, you could be booked in at 41 + 2 for example rather than waiting until 42 weeks

It's definitely OK to go back to your GP if you're having no joy with the midwives, alternatively you could try a pharmacist. I was able to get a prescription for low dose codeine for SPD in my last weeks of pregnancy for SPD
