My midwife practice offers a choice of group or individual appointments. I've seen these mentioned positively on other threads because they give you more time and quite different topics come up, but I have some reservations.
For anyone who's done them or runs them, I was hoping you could tell me what sort of discussions normally come up. I was also wondering how useful they were for non-native speaking immigrants. I'm an introverted foreigner (not in UK), so can imagine sitting silently in the corner only following about 2/3s of the discussion (strangely, what to expect when you're expecting isn't covered in language classes! ) I'm a bit worried about culture clashes too. If I accidentally respond in horror to local practices or they treat UK norms as bizarre someone's going to get offended! Do the groups work well for immigrants in the UK?
