Never heard of that. There is no way anything could get through your skin, and then through the placenta. if anything could cause miscarriage, it will be well known.

Is that not only if you are ingesting it I.e. eating the liquorice root?

Don't expect movement for a while, most people don't get anything til at least 20 weeks especially if it's your first.

I was gifted a liquorice lip oil and decided to not use it.
Some people are more sensitive to certain plants and some less.
I for example had cramps and spotting after having tea with lemongrass. Most people say lemongrass is okay to use in pregnancy, but there are studies that have said it can cause a miscarriage. You can be sensitive and not sensitive to liquorice root I guess. For me the effect from lemongrass was pretty much instant, in the same day after few cups of the tea. I stopped using it and it all turned well. Anyway I wouldn’t advice to continue using something your gut tells you you’re not sure about.
