Pregnant - Pregabalin & Amitriptyline

I found out this week I am 4 weeks pregnant, unplanned. Due to severe chronic pain & disability I have been on Amitriptyline for 10 years. I have a 3 year old & took Amitriptyline through my pregnancy but I am now on a much higher dose. Since then I have also been prescribed Pregabalin which I take 200mg a day.

I am extremely reliant on these medications & really don't think I can wean off them. I have a doctors appointment booked for next week but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone has been through pregnancy on these medications?

My thoughts are that I will probably have to terminate because it will be unsafe for the baby & I can't stop taking them. It breaks my heart

Hi, I'm on high strength pain killers and Pregabalin. I was on Pregabalin 200mg until I realised I was pregnant at about 12 weeks. My baby is absolutely fine and born with no problems. I spent my whole pregnancy terrified I had damaged her :( I wish there was more support re this.

I stopped mine Pregabalin but I am on 10mg Amitriptyline they said to take it at the pharmacy when doctor spoke to them but also I am on ormorphine liquid for pain and( tramadol but don't take it only if I really need it ) I don't go mad on them just when I really need them I take them but still get them every month from doctors , think u will be fine ... I didn't tell the doctors I was pregnant until I was 25 weeks gone I went to private scans and at 20 weeks I did a self referral to the hospital so by then it was too late to take me off anything anyhow lol x
