Hi all - my scan is tomorrow, I should be 12+1. This is my 2nd pregnancy, my 1st ended in a MMC at my last 12w scan. I had promising early scans around the 8w mark both times.

I have two questions - firstly, I’m slim but have zero bump or tummy hardness at this point. I’ve had vague nausea and tiredness throughout but it’s lessened since around week 10 (which happened last time too…). Anyone experienced this and their scan has gone to plan?

Secondly, anyone who had a MMC diagnosed at 12w scan - did it go better for you when the next time came around?

I can't really help as I'm in your position but a few weeks behind. I didn't have an early scan with my MMC though I just found out at the scan, it's devastating isn't it. I'm 8 weeks pregnant again but decided against an early scan for the same reason you've said, seeing the heartbeat at that point doesn't mean it won't go wrong sadly. I'm wishing you so much luck, I already feel sick thinking about mine. If it helps, i know of 4 people that had mmcs and their next pregnancies were successful 🩷 please update me! Is it early in the morning? Also I had the worst symptoms in the pregnancy I lost so symptoms mean nothing. I feel a bit sick now and again and overwhelmingly tired but I had to take time off work in the previous pregnancy because I felt so awful whereas this time is different. Do you feel more positive this pregnancy? For some reason, the last one I had a bad feeling about it and don't know why as I had no bleeding or pain. This time feels different but not sure if it's because i know it would be really bad luck to happen twice in a row.

Im so sorry for your loss jellyfish2, it can be brutal can’t it. The scan is mid afternoon tomorrow, will let you know how it goes! That’s interesting to know about your symptoms, thank you for letting me know x

If it’s any comfort I had zero symptoms with DSs (as in went for a 12 week scan and it turned out I was 20 weeks with DS1 and the same didn’t happen with DS2 only because the community midwife remembered me and sent me for an ‘early’ scan…DS2 was 13 weeks). So don’t read too much into it.

Hoping for the best for you. Take care.

My sister in law had one diagnosed at the 12 week scan but her next pregnancy resulted in my gorgeous nephew 😍

I wasn't as lucky and had two MMCs in a row but eventually had my baby daughter 🥰

I miscarried in my first pregnancy (though not MMC) - I'm now nearly 33 weeks pregnant and at 12/13 weeks I had absolutely no outward physical signs of pregnancy, not even a hint of a bump yet. My symptoms lessened from about the 10 week point, although I was lucky that I didn't have really horrible symptoms in the first trimester at any point.

Good luck for your scan. ❤️

Hope everything goes ok with your scan 🩷

Good luck OP! X

@Elle989898 I understand completely what you are going through. My first pregnancy ended in a MMC at my 12 week scan, baby stopped growing at 10 weeks. I've had two children since then and I'm pregnant with my third and even now scans give me the worst anxiety!
I really hope you had good news today x

Sadly it was bad news, another MMC. It’s lovely to hear all the positive stories though - nice to know there are happy endings sometimes x

@Elle989898 I'm so sorry to read this. I was so hoping you had a positive outcome. Sending you lots of love 🩷

@Elle989898 I'm so very sorry to hear this, it's awful to go through a loss once, never mind twice. I hope the next one, should you decide to try again, is the one that's meant to be. ❤️

@Elle989898 I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s so unfair. I just wanted to jump on to say that I had two consecutive MMCs, early scans looking good and everything. I’m now 24 weeks pregnant and things seem to be going ok, so there is definitely still hope! There’s a brilliant and supportive TTC after loss thread on the conception board if you plan to TTC again. In the meantime, sending love x
