Are these baby’s first movements? (Anterior placenta)

Hi all,

First pregnancy. 22 weeks pregnant with a confirmed anterior placenta two weeks ago.

I hadn’t felt anything until this weekend. Everyone mentioned that I’d feel fluttering/taps/swishes, but I’ve not felt that.

Instead, it’s like little muscle spasms in my uterus. They happen sporadically (often for 10-30 seconds several times a day - only when lying or sitting down), and can be quite uncomfortable. Almost like little electric shocks. Could this be the baby? I’m getting a bit nervous as 22 weeks seems quite late to not be feeling much!

Sounds like it,I had an anterior pregnancy and it took a while to feel movements and felt like little bumps until baby got bigger

Yes I think so! I am also 22 weeks with an anterior placenta and have been feeling movements for the past couple of weeks - often as you describe. Enjoy! I found they got "clearer" quite quickly once I could feel them.
