Can baby move too much? 33 weeks

Most days he moves fairly frequently, but there will be breaks in between movement and some days are definitely more active than others and that's been the case for weeks, but since yesterday morning it feels like he hasn't had a break whatsoever.

He was moving from when I woke up yesterday morning and I don't think I've had more than 10-15 minutes without him moving since then, he was active all day yesterday and even every time I woke up throughout the night, he was moving. I did have a CTG yesterday morning and all was fine as I have them twice weekly but now today he's still been the same from the minute I woke up, currently having big kicks in the ribs and rolls around my belly as I type this.

Just wondering whether I should be worried? They don't feel frantic or anything, some are more moderately sized and then he's having a lot of periods of big movements but I realise this is maybe a change in my "normal pattern" so just not sure?

If you feel this is a change in your baby's normal pattern then I would call your maternity triage and seek their advice. It is generally to come in for a CTG. It is most likely that you just have a very active baby but it is always worth getting checked.

Thank you, I did end up going in and the CTG was fine thankfully :) x

Really glad all is well, it's such a worrying time when movements aren't their normal but hopefully baby won't be keeping you on your toes too much for the remainder of your pregnancy!

I think some babies are just very active. My first was very similar (and still is outside the womb 🤪). Currently pregnant with #2 and this one is shaping up to be the same - very active, all day long. Remember they go through a BIG growth spurt 30-34 weeks (like 0.5kg a week) so it could be that they are just bigger and you are feeling the movements more.
