I was wondering if anyone has taken this anti sickness tablet in early pregnancy and their thoughts on it?

I was on it from week 8 till end of second trimester
did wonders for me

I took it for a while, made me super tired for the first few days but after that it really helped.

I took it from week 6 in three pregnancies to roughly week 24-26. It made me very tired and barely took the edge off but I had hyperemesis. Had xonvea (spelling) been around then I’d have begged for that instead.

I was on it for weeks in both pregnancies. The drowsiness was severe the first couple I took (I basically passed out on the sofa while DH was vacuuming right in front of me), but that faded quickly and then I didn't have any drowsiness at all.

I do have a friend who really couldn't tolerate it at all though, and the drowsiness didn't go away, and was too bad for her to function.

Not at the beginning but I had it at the end and it was amazing. Only got one dose though. In my area they seem to be quite stingy with the anti sickness meds and you don't get any unless you haven't passed urine in 24 hours. I had ++ ketones and was puking 20 times a day but wasn't allowed any meds.

I've been on it since 6 weeks, along with Ondansetron from 8 weeks. It didn't do much alone but the combination helped somewhat. I'm now 29 weeks and think I'll probably be on them until birth

I has cyclizine for pregnancy sickness I used it on and off between week 7 and 20. Sometimes it helped, sometimes it didn't. Interestingly unlike the other posters it didn't really make me drowsy. I found cyclizine more helpful than metaclopromide, but overall promethazine and ondansetron helped the best. Ondansetron was amazing, but made me extremely extremely constipated very quickly (very common side effect).

It's definitely very variable GP to GP. I never had any issue getting it and wasn't anywhere near as sick as it sounds like you were.

I had it from 6 weeks and it didn't do anything then moved to another one beginning with P now I'm 10 weeks, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

I was on it throughout my first and third trimester with my daughter. I only needed it once a day and it reduced my vomiting to 0-3 times a day and meant I could broadly get on with my life again except for a few particularly bad days.

I am 9 weeks pregnant with number 2 and have been on cyclizine for nearly 2 weeks needing it 3 times a day and still being sick a lot and struggling. I have been switched to prochlorpreazine and have been told to give a few days and if that doesn't help I need to go back to the GP again.
