Early pregnancy pains

This is my first pregnancy. I found out just over a week ago that I am pregnant after many years of trying.
I have been having period like symptoms and sharp twinges in my right lower abdomen for the past week, my doctor referred me for an early scan which I have had today.

Scan was all good, picked up the sac within 5 seconds and found the baby and a heart beat 💓

Did anyone else suffer with these sharp pains which radiates down the leg?

Yep! Spent the first trimester thinking I was having a miscarriage because of all the cramps and weird pains. I'm now 31 weeks.

Yes! Similar to you I tried for many years and was terrified of something going wrong. Had lots of cramping type pains for first few weeks. Midwife just said it's 'everything moving and stretching' which makes sense I guess, there's a lot going on in there!

I had absolutely horrendous pains at the beginning of my pregnancy with my daughter. It was literally like being in labour for 10 solid days. All investigations normal, it eventually settled and I ended up giving birth to a healthy baby. I'm now 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my second and again have had contraction type pains, but much milder this time. They finally seem to have more or less settled after 10 days or so again and as far as I know I'm still pregnant. No bleeding and I'm feeling nauseated and exhausted anyway. Just seems to be a weird physiological quirk that my body has but doesn't seem to have heralded a miscarriage.

I had that horrid period pain feeling for my whole pregnancy, it sort of ruined it for me with all the worry. But initially it was my ovary then round ligament pain. Please try not to stress like I did!

I’ve had all sorts all pains and cramps throughout! Now 33 weeks.
